Baked Apples

4 baking apples, cored and unpeeled
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter


Place apples in slow cooker.

Combine cinnamon and brown sugar. Stuff into apples.

Top each apple with 1 tbsp. butter.

Cover. Cook on low 4-5 hours.
Jim's Comments:

I used a 1.5 quart slow cooker for this one, mainly because I halved the apples in the recipe. For four, you'd probably need a 3 or 4 quart slow cooker. If you use a larger slow cooker for four apples, then you risk a burn job if you don't attend it on a regular basis.

I used McIntosh apples, and margarine instead of butter.

The result should vary with the type of apples that you use.

A nice, different dessert. The 'niceness' improved significantly with the addition of a serving of vanilla ice cream.
