Teriyaki Turkey Loaf

1 1/4 pounds ground turkey
1/4 cup fine dry breadcrumbs
1 egg -- beaten slightly
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
2 green onions, including some tops -- finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1 can sliced water chestnuts (8-oz) -- drained


In a medium bowl, combine turkey, bread crumbs, egg, celery, green onions, salt, and black pepper. Form into a 5 1/2- to 6-inch-round loaf. Place loaf in a 3 1/2-quart slow cooker.

In a small bowl, combine bell pepper, teriyaki sauce, and water chestnuts. Spoon over loaf. Cover and cook on low about 4 hours.

Remove loaf from slow cooker. Cut into thin wedges or slices.
