Pot Roast with Sauerkraut

1 apple -- cored, and thinly sliced
1 boneless beef roast or sirloin - (about 3 lbs)
1 can tomatoes - (20 oz) -- undrained
1 can sauerkraut, or bag - (16 oz) -- rinsed, drained, and squeezed
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 package gravy mix


Place all ingredients in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 9 to 11 hours. This recipe yields 6 servings.
