1 pound roast - (to 1 1/2 lbs) -- coarsely chopped
1 cup chopped onions - (to 1 1/2 cups)
1 1/2 cups chopped green peppers - (to 2 cups)
1 can tomato paste - (6 oz)
1/4 cup brown sugar - (packed)
1/8 cup dark vinegar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
Set slow cooker on High. Add ingredients one at a time in order (roast, chopped onions, chopped green peppers, tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, chili powder, salt, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard). Do not mix or stir. After 1 hour, turn to LOW and cook 8 to 10 hours. Stir off and on for last hour. Shred and serve on warmed buns.
