Hot Spiced Wine
2 quarts dry red wine
4 cups water
2 cups sugar
15 - 20 whole cloves
15-20 whole allspice
4 cinnamon sticks
1 lemon, sliced
Pour wine, water, and sugar into pot and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add cloves, all spice, cinnamon sticks and lemon. (Spices may be tied in cheesecloth. )
Cover pot and place on base. Heat at Setting #4 for about 1 1/2 hours or until temperature reaches 170*F. Remove spice bag, if used. Keep warm for serving at Setting #2. Makes about 3 quarts.
