1 slice bread
1/4 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. almonds, chopped (optional)
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
salt and pepper

Soak bread in milk; squeeze dry. Mix egg with milk. Add all ingredients to ground beef; blend well. Shape into a loaf. Place in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours. Makes 4 to 6 servings (about 2 quarts).
