2 to 3 cups cut-up cooked beef (cubed stew beef works well)
2 packages (10 oz each) frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
1 onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup gravy or beef broth
Salt and pepper
Place all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low setting for 6 to 8 hours (on High setting for 2 to 3 hours). 4 servings (about 1 1/2 quarts). Double recipe for 5-quart slow cooker
