Orange Chutney Steak

1 1/2 lbs flank steak
2 cups dried fruit
2 tablespoons orange marmalade
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
12 ounces beer
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
cooked rice


Place whole flank steak in slow cooker.

In medium bowl, combine dried fruits, marmalade, brown sugar, lemon juice, ginger, cinnamon, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and beer. Pour over meat. Cook on LOW about 7 hours.

With slotted spoon, remove fruit and meat; keep warm. Turn pot on HIGH. In small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in cold water. Stir into juices in pot. Cover and cook on HIGH 15 to 20 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Spoon over warm meat and fruit. Serve on a bed of rice.
