Pasta with Easy Turkey Vegetable Sauce

1 green bell pepper -- diced
1 red onion -- thinly sliced
8 ounces to 10 oz uncooked turkey breast -- cut into strips
1 jar chunky pizza sauce (14 1/2-oz)
3 small plum tomatoes -- seeded and chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil, plus additional for garnish
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
8 ounces medium pasta shells or fettuccine
1 cup shredded light mozzarella cheese -- about


Combine bell pepper, onion, turkey, pizza sauce, tomatoes, oregano, basil and black pepper in a 3 1/2-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 5 to 6 hours or until turkey and vegetables are tender.

Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Spoon sauce over cooked pasta. Top with cheese and additional basil.
