Cheese Potatoes

5 lb Potatoes
Salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 Sticks of margarine
3 c Shredded mild Cheddar cheese
1/2 c Milk


Boil potatoes in skins until partially cooked; cool, peel, and grate. Divide potatoes in 3 equal portions. In a large round slow cooker, put in a layer of grated potatoes, salt and pepper, 1/2 stick of butter, cut into pats, 1 cup shredded cheese. Repeat this procedure two more times, then pour milk over this. Cover and cook on MEDIUM heat for 2 1/2 hours, the last 1/2 hour put on HIGH.
Jim's Comments:

Because there was only two of us for supper, I cut the quantity of potatoes in half.

The Potato Lover almost finished the pot before I got my share, so I sort of had an inclination that it was a winner.

Lots of melted cheese in the potatoes. Crunchy cheese bits. Tasty.

I've been told I'm going to make this recipe again.
