Busy Day Barbecue Ribs

4 pounds country-style pork ribs
1 can (10 3/4 oz. ) condensed tomato soup -- undiluted
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon chili powder

Place ribs in a slow cooker. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over ribs. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low and cook 4 to 5 hours longer. Thicken sauce for gravy if desired. Yield 6-8 servings.
