Creamy Pork

1/4 cup chopped onion - (to 1/2 cup)
3 garlic cloves -- minced (or 3/4 tspn garlic powder)
2 tart green apples -- peeled, cored, and sliced
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon freshly-ground white pepper
2 pounds boneless pork loin - (to 2 1/2 lbs) -- trimmed, and cut into 1" cubes
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white cooking wine
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/3 cup whipping cream
Salt -- to taste


In slow cooker combine onion, garlic, apples, sugar, sage, pepper. Coat pork with flour and put on top of mixture. Pour in wine. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH 4 to 5 hours.

Mix cornstarch and whipping cream into small bowl. Pour into pork mixture about 15 minutes before you want to serve. If slow cooker is on low, turn to HIGH. Cook until bubbly! Season with salt. Serve with cornmeal biscuits!
