3 to 3 1/2 lb (1 to 1 1/2 kg) pickled pork cottage roll
1 bay leaf
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 medium potato, peeled, diced
Remove wrapper from cottage roll, rinse and place in slow cooker with peppercorns, bay leaf and celery and potato. Add water to within 1 inch of top of slow cooker. Cover and cook on low setting 8 to 10 hours. Remove cottage roll, strain cooking liquid, discarding vegetable and seasonings and refrigerate liquid overnight. Slice cottage roll.
Makes 8 servings.
