1/4 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic -- minced
1 large onion -- diced
1 can (12 oz. ) tomato paste
1 can (46 oz. ) tomato juice
1 can (28 oz. ) whole tomatoes
1/4 cup parsley
1 1/2 tsp. basil
1 pinch oregano
In a pan over medium heat, sauté the garlic and onion in olive oil. When onions are translucent, add tomato paste and blend well. Add 12 oz. water (just use tomato paste can). Add spices. Add tomato juice. Heat until it bubbles. Pour into the slow cooker. Add whole tomatoes. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
