Chinese Pork

1 1/2 lb. pork steak
2 Tbsp. oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 small green pepper, cut into strips
1 (8 oz. ) can tomato sauce
1 (4 oz. ) can sliced mushrooms, drained
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp. vinegar (apple)
1 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce


Cut pork into strips, then one inch pieces. Quickly brown on all sides in oil, drain. Add all other ingredients to slow cooker. Place pork on top. Stir to blend. Cook low for 6 to 8 hours, on high for 4 hours. Serve over white or fried rice.
