Lean Beans

1 large onion -- chopped
1 pound ground white turkey
2 cans baked beans -- (16 oz ea)
1 can pinto beans
1 can red kidney beans - (16 oz)
1 can buttered beans - (15 oz)
1 can tomato sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar -- or more to taste
1 tablespoon maple extract
3 tablespoon liquid smoke

Sauté onion and ground meat in skillet until browned. Transfer to slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients to slow cooker and simmer on LOW for 4 to 6 hours. The longer the dish simmers, the better the flavor.
