1 medium onion, diced
3 to 4 lb. stewing beef
1 lb. Carrots, sliced
1 - 8 potatoes, cubed
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
2 bay leaves
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. cloves
Combine above ingredients in a 5 quart slow cooker; add enough water to cover ingredients. Cook on low 7 to 8 hours or on high 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Discard bay leaves before serving. Serve with hot rolls or biscuits.
