Indian Pudding

1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup Grandma's molasses
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
6 cups hot milk, divided
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger

Mix all of the ingredients with 3 cups of the hot milk. Cook slowly in saucepan until mixture thickens. Stir in rest of milk and turn into slow cooker. Cook on Low for 5-7 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve hot with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
