Low Fat Sausages and Apples
2 pounds fat-free smoked sausage -- sliced
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 onion -- chopped
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons fat-free margarine
1/8 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
2 tablespoons apple juice or water
1/2 cup sugar-free apple jelly
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
Peel, core and slice apples. Combine the cornstarch and water until smooth, then add to apple mixture. Add remaining ingredients and stir to mix. Pour into slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours.
