Scary Spaghetti Sauce

2 pounds ground beef
2 onions -- chopped
1 large green pepper -- chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
Salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder or equivalent in fresh
1/2 teaspoon pepper -- or to taste
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of tomato soup
8 ounces tomato sauce
4 ounces tomato paste
4 ounces mushrooms, stems and pieces -- undrained
28 ounces tomatoes, canned, diced -- undrained
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon oregano


Partially brown ground beef. Add onions and green pepper. Add seasonings and simmer until meat is browned throughout and seasonings blended. Add all other ingredients. Cover and cook very slowly about 3 hours.

This makes more than enough for one meal, but it freezes well.

Serve over hot cooked spaghetti.
