5 to 6 pieces of fruit, such as apples, pears, and peaches, whatever is in season and good (use varieties appropriate for cooking)
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup brown sugar (more if you like it sweetened)
1/2 cup raisins, Craisins, or currants
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Peel, core, and coarsely chop fruit. Put fruit into slow cooker; add remaining ingredients.
Stir well. Cook on low heat for at least 6 hours, until fruit is soft enough to mash.
Yield: about 2 cups fruit sauce.
