Sausage Polenta Pie

1 (14 oz. ) pkg. reduced-fat smoked turkey sausage, cut into 1/2' slices
1 onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tomato, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 (8 oz. ) jar picante sauce
2 tsp. chopped fresh basil
1 tsp. chopped fresh parsley
1 cup cornmeal
3 3/4 cups chicken broth
1 tbsp. margarine or butter
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Combine sausage, onion, garlic, tomato, picante sauce, basil, oregano and parsley in a slow cooker; set aside. In a med. saucepan, combine cornmeal and broth. Bring to a boil; cook, stirring, over med. heat until thick, about 5 min. Stir in margarine or butter and half of the cheese. Cover and cook on low about 6 hrs. Serve with large spoon directly on plates.
