Taco Seasoned Turkey Pitas

3/4 pound lean ground turkey
3 green onions including the tops sliced
1 1 ounce package dry taco spices and seasonings
1 large bunch spinach washed stemmed and cut into 1/4 inch slices
2 carrots peeled and shredded
8 pita bread rounds


Combine turkey, green onions, taco mix, spinach and carrots in a 3 1/2 quart slow cooker. Stir to mix well. Cover and cook on low about 4 hours or until onions are tender. Stir turkey mixture and let stand while heating pita rounds or for a least 5 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Halve pita rounds crosswise and place on a baking sheet. heat pita rounds until warmed, about 10 minutes. Fill pita rounds with turkey mixture and serve. Makes about 8 servings.
