Beef Stew

1 1/2 pound (750 g) chuck or round steak cubes
1/3 cup (75 mL) flour
1 teaspoon (5 mL) salt
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
1 large green pepper cut into bite size pieces
1 large can (28 oz/796 mL) of tomatoes or chop 4 medium fresh tomatoes
1/2 pound (225g) package mushrooms, sliced
3 tablespoon (45 mL) soy sauce
2 tablespoon (25 mL) Worcestershire sauce
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in chunks
2 carrots, sliced

Put beef, flour, salt and pepper in slow cooker, stirring well to coat meat. Add remaining ingredients (throw a little bit of chopped garlic or ginger if you want more flavor) and cook on Low for 8 hours or 5 hours on Low and 2 hours on High.

Serve with crusty bread or garlic bread.
