Easy Flavor-Filled Green Beans
Makes 10 servings
Prep. Time: 5-10 minutes
Cooking Time: 2-4 hours
Ideal slow cooker size: 3- to 3 1/2-qt.
2 qts., or 4 14 1/2-oz. cans, green beans, drained
1/3 cup chopped onions
4-oz. can mushrooms, drained
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. butter
pepper to taste
Combine beans, onions, and mushrooms in slow cooker. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Dot with butter. Sprinkle with pepper. Cover. Cook on Low 2-4 hours, or until onions are tender. Stir just before serving.
I only made half the recipe.
I used fresh mushrooms instead of canned.
This received really favorable comments, and considering that I used canned green beans (mostly no taste, in my opinion), I was fairly surprised with the response.
The additions to the green beans really brought out the flavor, and I was told in no uncertain terms that I could make this recipe again.
