Easy Fruit Crisp

1 box of yellow or white cake mix; (approx. 18. 25 ounces)
1 1/2 sticks of butter or margarine (MUST be the stick kind)
1 large can of apple pie filling (approx. 16 ounces; or any kind of fruit pie filling is ok)
4 tablespoons water or apple juice (or fruit juice)


Spray slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

Put 2 tablespoons of the water (or fruit juice) in the bottom of the slow cooker. Soften the butter or margarine, mix it into the cake mix in a bowl, so that you get large "crumbs". Sprinkle 1/2 of this crumb mixture into the bottom of slow cooker.

Pour the apple pie filling (or blueberry, or cherry, or whatever. . . . ) on top of that, spread it out evenly. Sprinkle the other 1/2 of the crumb mix on top of the filling evenly. Sprinkle the other 2 tablespoons of the water (or fruit juice) over the top of the crumb mix.

Cook on low about 4-6 hours. Serve hot with whipped cream on top if you like, or vanilla ice cream.
