Bean Pot Lentils

1 1/2 cups water
1 cup dry lentils (8 oz. )
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1 16 oz. can tomatoes, cut up
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. chili sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
2 slices bacon, crisp-cooked and crumbled


In saucepan bring water, lentils, onion, and salt to boiling. Simmer, covered, 30 min. Transfer to slow cooker; stir in undrained tomatoes, sugar, chili sauce and mustard. Cover; cook on low for 8-10 hrs. Uncover; cook on HIGH for 30 min. Stir, top with bacon.
