Sweet and Sour Ribs
2 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp ketchup
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground ginger
3 lbs port spareribs cut into two- or three-inch sections
In a saucepan combine brown sugar and flour. Add water. Stir well to dissolve sugar. Then add vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Layer port spareribs in slow cooker:
Spoon sauce over each layer to coat ribs. Cover. Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for five to six hours until ribs are tender. Great served with rice.
