Beef Tips and Rice

2 to 3 lb. stew beef
2 Tbsp. Kitchen Bouquet
1 (6 oz. ) can mushroom slices, undrained
2 jumbo sweet onions, thin slice
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. water
1/2 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
cooked rice to serve 6 people


Thoroughly salt and pepper beef to taste. Put all ingredients in slow cooker. Layer meat, onion and mushrooms. Pour water over contents to moisten and cover. Cook on low temperature for 10 hours. Add green peppers during last 2 hours to avoid mushiness. Prepare rice and place in bed on long platter. Pour on beef tips and gravy and serve. (If gravy needs thickening, add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to make a paste. Turn slow cooker on high about 15 minutes, stirring well. )
