Dressing In The Slow Cooker
1 Stk. Butter/margarine
2 Cup Chopped Onion
2 Cup Chopped Celery
1/4 Cup Fresh Parsley, Chopped
16 Oz Canned Mushrooms (2 8 Oz Cans, drained)
12 Cup Bread Crumbs, or a bit more
1 Tsp Poultry Seasoning
1-1/2 Tsp Salt
1-1/2 Tsp Ground Sage
1 Tsp Dried Thyme
1/2 Tsp Pepper
4 Cup Chicken or Turkey Broth
2 Eggs, beat well
Giblets, livers, etc. as you wish, cooked
Cut up the bread cubes, crumbs, etc. any way you like. Place them in the pot. Sauté the onions in the butter and pour over the cubes. Add all the other dry ingredients (don't stir yet!). Mix the eggs and broth, and pour over the whole thing. Mix slightly (not too much). Cover and cook in slow cooker on high for 45 minutes. Reduce heat to low, and cook for about 6 hours. freezes well.
