Beef Paprikash

2 pounds beef -- cubed
5 large carrots -- cubed
8 large potatoes -- cubed
2 large onions -- sliced thin
3 tablespoons paprika -- or to taste
salt and freshly ground pepper -- to taste
water

Put beef, carrots, potatoes, onions, and paprika in slow cooker. Top with some water (it makes a gravy as it cooks) and cook on high for 4 hours.
